I stopped here for a quick lunch. It wasn't super busy for a Saturday afternoon and the service was a little slow because the register was at the hostess station. I ordered coffee and that came out quickly and then opted for the pancake platter- three pancakes, bacon or sauasage, and two eggs. I chose the corn berry pancakes- corn pancakes with blueberries, because it sounded interesting. I didn't have much of a wait but I overheard them say a man left because he felt the wait was too long and also a family near me was seated when I arrived and my food arrived ahead of them, though that could be they ordered something more complicated. My waitress was very nice and was food about checking on me and making sure my coffee cup was full. The food was very good and they had a huge menu. I'd definitely stop here again, it's a good way to fortify yourself for I95.

Now, let me begin by saying this place is not fancy and yes, they could probably update the decor. That said, this is why they get 5 stars. This place is an institution, it's been around since I was 11 years old and now I collect Social Security. You can look around the dining room and see loyalty in their customers' faces. The food is simple, country style fare that is meant to fill you up and taste good. Every meal I hav eaten here has always been exactly what I expected. The service is excellent. Our server got our order on point without writing a thing down. Truly a mark of customer care. Although I live in Kansas, I grew up right down the road in Ashland and we visit this establishment every time we come to see Mother. Can't wait to visit again.....

Bqreakfast was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Service was fast & friendly... I had pancakes & eggs... I order my eggs over light... They usually come over medium or broken yokes... Aunt Sarah's did them RIGHT the first time... Both the pancakes & eggs tasted GREAT... My wife had Pecan Waffle with WHIPPED CREAM... She said it was extremely good and tasty... I highly recommend a visit to Aunt Sarah's Pancake House when in Glen Allen...

Best hole in the wall diner in town, bar none. This place is our go-to for weekend brunch, and we're never disappointed. The breakfasts are fantastic - they know how to make an over medium egg right EVERY TIME - and some favorites include the catfish skillet (seriously some of the best fried fish in town), the ribeye (an amazing deal for a big, tasty steak), and the scrapple, which you have to know to ask for, because it's not on the physical menu. Don't ask me to choose between their truly awesome home fries and the hash brown casserole - both are waaaaay too delicious. And the pancakes, it goes without saying, are to die for (add blueberries - they're fresh). Even the orange juice is fresh squeezed, which you can't beat. The interior is a bit run down, but honestly that's kind of part of its charm. The waitresses are sweet and friendly and make the place feel like home. Between the down-home cooking and friendly atmosphere, you'll probably become a regular, too!

Ummm don't sleep on Aunt Sarah's! I'd always thought it was akin to Golden Corral AKA filled to the brim with the after church crowd on Sundays and the over 70 crowd the rest of the time. Although I'm not necessarily wrong about that, I may have found some of the best pancakes in Richmond. It's no secret that my all-time favorite pancake comes from Cracker Barrel. I mean really, those people know how to cook a fantastic pancake. However, seeing that Aunt Sarah's is literally 3 minutes away from my house and the closest CB is about 15-20, umm safe to say that Aunt Sarah's is #winning. We got takeout and even after I got home and sat down to eat, the pancakes were still fluffy as ever with so much flavor-- I loved everything about them! I already can't wait for my next visit.
